It is difficult to go anywhere in Puerto Vallarta without music. Strolling mariachis, bands of troubadours and single musicians entertain on the streets and beaches virtually every hour of the day and night. Along the downtown Malec?n (boardwalk) there is music for every age and taste from hard rock to hip hop, pop to punk, and flamenco to folk songs. Evenings start late. Local restaurants begin serving dinner after 8 pm. Late night clubs, located above the restaurants along the boardwalk, don’t open until 11 pm. It’s easy to spot popular music hangouts. Look for crowds dancing under the tropical stars in the open air bars.
The new Malec?n Bridge over the Rio Cuale brings visitors to the Romantic Zone and the Los Muertos Beach Sunset Music Strip. Bars with intriguing names like the Lazy Lizard, El Dorado and Daiquiri Dicks compete for the party crowd offering a mix of Cuban music, soft rock and sexy jazz and blues.
